Proceeding of second international Jean Françaix music competition

On the 17th of April, the clarinet Competition brought together thirty-four candidates of nationalities more different of last year: France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Tchecoslovaquia, Poland, Israel, Taiwan, Korea, Japan.
The jury was composed of :
- Mr Jean-Louis. Sajot, President of the Jury, clarinettist
- Mrs Claude Françaix, composer’s daughter
- Mr Guy Danguain, clarinettist
- Mr Philippe Cuper, clarinettist
- Mr Armand Artinian, President of a Music association
- Mr Justo Sanz, clarinettist

The Piano competition (18 April) brought together 15 pianists vfrom France, Belgium, Hongrary, Bulgary, Turkey, Nicaragua, Uruguay, Japan, Korea.
The jury was composed of :

- Mrs Claude Françaix, composer’s daughter
- Mrs Idil Biret, pianist
- Mrs Hélène Calef, pianist
- Mrs Kornélia Ogorkowna, pianist
- Mr Andrea Delle Vigne, pianist
- Mr Jean-Pierre Lore, conductor
1st Prize :

For the piano as for the clarinet, the jury was pleased to note that the level was still very high this year. A total of 49 candidates entered the competition, 22 better than the first edition (27 candidates).
